WHere is a simplified version of a drink from our latest drinks list. It's a party-sized pre-mixed which is loaded with essence of a festive period, making it ideal for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining cordial to use in morning drinks, desserts, or to make another batch of this cocktail.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 guests
For the Clementine Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
For the Cocktail (yields 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (from the recipe above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Method
To prepare the Citrus Syrup: Put the listed components into a pot, bring to a gentle boil, agitating until the sugar dissolves. Then, take off the heat and let it to cool fully. Transfer into a sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the fridge, it can be stored for up to one month.
To make Batch Mix: Mix the specified liquids into one large bottle, leave to sit for one hour, then filter it best through muslin, to ensure it's completely strained.
For serving: Measure 85ml of the premix into your mixing glass filled with ice, and agitate lightly for a minute to chill. Strain into a frosted cocktail glass or equivalent, top with a few cranberries adding the final touch with a brief mist with the mandarin essence over the drink.
